TRAVELING TO EXUMA


BAHAMAS MINISTRY OF TOURISM, INVESTMENTS & AVIATION STATEMENT ON PRE- DEPARTURES & ARRIVALS

Testing Requirements:

Effective at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, 19 June 2022, travelers will no longer need to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa in order to enter the country. All unvaccinated travelers will, however, still be required to present a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to travel to The Bahamas.

VACCINATED TRAVELLERS

Effective 27 December 2021, fully vaccinated persons travelling to The Bahamas from other countries will be required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test (either a Rapid Antigen Test or RT-PCR Test —including PCR, NAA, NAAT, TMA, or RNA), taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas. Effective 2 April 2022, fully vaccinated persons travelling inter-island (domestic) within The Bahamas from New Providence (Nassau), Paradise Island or Grand Bahama Island (Freeport), will no longer be required to obtain a COVID-19 test prior to the date of travel.

UNVACCINATED TRAVELLERS

Effective 27 December 2021, unvaccinated travellers, ages 12 and older, entering The Bahamas must obtain a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR Test (including PCR, NAA, NAAT, TMA or RNA) test taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival. Effective 27 December 2021, children between the ages of 2 and 11 are required to obtain a negative COVID-19 test (either a Rapid Antigen Test or RT-PCR Test), taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to the date of arrival to The Bahamas. Children under the age of 2 are exempt from any testing requirements Effective 2 April 2022, unvaccinated persons travelling inter-island (domestic) within The Bahamas from New Providence (Nassau), Paradise Island or Grand Bahama Island (Freeport), will no longer be required to obtain a COVID-19 test prior to the date of travel.

Bahamas Travel Health Visa Application:

All visitors travelling to The Bahamas are no longer required to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa at travel.gov.bs. As of 13 December 2021, the Travel Health Visa requirement for citizens and residents was discontinued. Instead, Bahamian citizens and residents are required to present a negative COVID-19 test at check in prior to departure to The Bahamas.

VACCINATED TRAVELLERS:

Fully vaccinated visitors are required to upload negative COVID-19 test results (either a Rapid Antigen Test or RT-PCR Test) in addition to valid proof of vaccination confirming they have passed the two-week immunity period (such as CDC or government issued vaccine record card). At this time, the Bahamas Government will only be accepting vaccinations by AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria/Covishield), Janseen (Johnson & Johnson), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), Sinopharm, Covaxin or Sinovac.

UNVACCINATED TRAVELLERS:

ALL BAHAMIAN RESIDENTS & CITIZENS:

All Bahamian citizens or residents planning to travel abroad for two (2) days or more must secure a test in the destination they visited before travelling back to The Bahamas. Any COVID-19 RT-PCR or COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test taken in The Bahamas prior to travel will not be valid for re-entry unless a person travels from The Bahamas and returns within a period of 24-hours.


ALL VISITORS:

As part of the Bahamas Travel Health Visa application, travellers will no longer be required to opt in to the COVID-19 health insurance that covers them for the duration of their stay in The Bahamas, up to one (1) month. The cost of insurance is included in the Bahamas Travel Health Visa application fee. Bahamas Travel Health Visa applications can take up to 24 hours to process and should be completed with adequate lead time. The cost of the Bahamas Travel Health Visa is dependent on length of stay and vaccination status. All visitors eighteen (18) years and older are required to complete an individual Bahamas Travel Health Visa application. Persons seventeen (17) years and younger are to add a profile within the account of their parent or guardian and complete an individual Bahamas Travel Health Visa application.

As part of our dedication to continuously improve on our guest experience, and offer a comfortable and safe environment for everyone who visits our property, we have implemented rigorous hygiene and cleaning procedures as per the COVID guidelines of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), and the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA).

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT


Our team is committed to providing every guest with the peace of mind to relax and enjoy their time with us. You will be welcomed by a team of individuals that have been fully trained on the importance of upholding the highest level of sanitation standards, and the sensitivity of the current circumstances which we are in.

  • All team members are screened for COVID symptoms before their shifts and are instructed to stay home if they do not feel well.
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be worn by all team members, based on their role and responsibilities, and in adherence to local regulations and guidance. This includes masks, gloves, and goggles.
  • Our team is trained on how to respond swiftly in handling guests or associates exhibiting any of the symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Plexiglass barriers have been installed in the lobby.


SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL DISTANCING


Social and physical distancing is one of the most effective tools used to control and reduce the spread of Coronavirus, and we appreciate your cooperation for the safety of other guests and our staff.

  • Seating in all public areas is positioned at least 6 feet apart.
  • We have reduced the capacity of our shuttle boats to Stocking Island for your safety and comfort.


HAND SANITIZER


Hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed at all guest and employee entrances and contact areas such as the lobby, dining areas, beach and pool areas.


ENHANCED CLEANLINESS STANDARDS


Our cleaning protocols include EPA-approved disinfectants that meet CDC requirements for use and are effective against viruses, bacteria, and other airborne and bloodborne pathogens.


PUBLIC AREAS

  • High touch areas, such as but not limited to doors, door handles, handrails, furniture in public spaces, signature pads, and credit card readers are cleaned and sanitized on a frequent and routine basis.
  • Our team upholds a strict schedule of routine hand sanitation throughout their time on the property.
  • Public restrooms are cleaned with increased frequency with locks, toilet seats, sinks, faucets, and doors being disinfected during each service.


GUEST ROOMS

  • Rooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected upon departure, including the use of hospital-grade disinfectants.

High touch areas, such as, but not limited to door handles, light switches, thermostats, lamps, power outlets, remote controls, and sinks and faucets, are cleaned and sanitized in an enhanced manner.
